Onyx Design Collective is a young architecture firm that is devoted to smart, innovative, and one of a kind architectural projects. At this time we are looking for an Architectural Drafter to join our team. We desire a detail oriented, passionate, and motivated individual who is able to assist in the design and detailing of high end residential and commercial projects. You will work directly with the Design Principal and Project Manager and will play a critical role in design and development of all projects. You will also assist in all aspects of the production of construction drawings and details. These tasks include completing red-lines, developing plans, elevations, sections, and details.

Location: 

  • Most work can be done via telecommuting.

  • Salt Lake/Davis County preferred - (in order to be available for project site visits.)

Requirements:

  • Create residential & commercial construction drawings as well as correct red-lined drawings.

  • 4-5 years of experience in the field.

  • Interacting with architect, consultants, and clients.

  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines.

  • Create design drawings based upon sketches or drawings provided to you to prepare and produce Construction Documents using Revit using office standards.

  • Develop documents to clearly convey the design intent and that are visually clean and organized.

  • Detail a variety of building types with complete building assemblies including notes and dimensions.

  • Update drawings from redlines provided by a principal or project manager.

  • Implement building code requirements into documents.

  • Coordinate consultant designs using their documents.

  • Coordinate drawings with specifications.

  • Communicate with clients on project details.

  • Have opportunities for growth based on your motivation and desires for improvement.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Possess a good balance of design creativity and technical proficiency.  

  • The candidate must have a strong skill set in Revit. 

  • A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program and working towards licensure. (recommended)

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketch Up and Lumion is a plus

  • Creatively motivated with a curiosity to explore ideas.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills and is not afraid to ask questions.

  • Professional office experience preferred within a collaborative environment.

  • Rendering and PhotoShop skills are advantageous.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work based on project deadlines
